Privacy notice & legal information

Who we are

Heat Rite Heating and Gas Services is a trading name of [owner's full legal name / company name, to confirm], Bristol, United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the personal data described below.

What we collect and why

When you send the quote form or ask for a gas safety reminder, we store the details you give (your name, phone number or email, postcode, the job you need, any notes and, for reminders, the date of your last gas safety check) and send a copy to Stuart by WhatsApp and email so he can reply quickly. If you choose “Send + open WhatsApp”, your WhatsApp app also opens with the message already written.

We use these details only to reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and carry out any work you book. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). If you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we use what you tell us in the same way.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or use it for marketing without your consent. Messages sent by WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp (Meta), and emails by our email provider, under their own privacy terms. Where the law requires it, for example gas safety records, we keep and share records as required.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records of work carried out, including gas safety records, are kept for as long as the law and our insurance require, normally up to 6 years.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking, and it loads no third-party fonts or scripts. No cookie banner is needed.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email stuart@heatritegas.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.
